The candidate should have experience in SQL Server database administration as part of an IT Department or Software Vendor.
The ideal candidate will be able to provide database management and support. Technical experience should include; backups\restores, security, high availability, T-SQL, triggers, stored procedures, understand replication and experience with performance tuning techniques. The candidate will be required to install SQL Server, implement database maintenance plans, write complex T-SQL statements, make optimization suggestions and deploy releases to client databases. Any experience in the SQL Server BI Stack would be beneficial as will any relevant Microsoft Certification. The candidate will have the opportunity to start or extend on their Microsoft Certification to assist in continuing to maintain the company's Microsoft Partner status.
- Knowledge of the insurance industry would be beneficial.
- Solid Excel knowledge would be beneficial.

The position necessitates some explanation and interpretation of facts when discussing IT solutions. The ability to work on a confidential basis is essential.
Working Conditions: Primarily on site at Wickford, some travel may be necessary to customer sites and some out of hours cover may be required from time to time.
The candidate would report to the Data Services Manager and work as part of a close-knit team. The role will provide the opportunity for the right candidate to upskill in all areas of SQL and may fluctuate between database administration and development. The role will also consist of 2nd-3rd line client support tasks.
